What are you up to?
Here it is ~ almost the end of July.... summer is flying away. I just ordered Kyle new strings for his guitar. Sweetie is playing with the dogs on the front porch. Most of all I am enjoying my rare, sort of, day off. There is so much to catch up on. Bill harvested this years garlic crop. It is drying in the barn. The first round of corn has been harvested. We are working on food preservation this year. We have dried corn, carrots, green beans and a few onions. Easy to throw in to a hearty stew this winter.
We are missing Kyle tremendously. He does call when he can. It is hard on his new wife. But the time is passing, just a bit slowly for her. He will be home for his mid tour leave in September. We are all looking forward to that.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Great summer pictures!!! It will be the end of the season before you know it; you captured summer!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pics. I'm sure you are counting the days until September!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe 2009 is more than halfway over! I have to say, that's great you're growing your own food! sounds like a wonderful addition to stew. {:-D
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea since there's nothing like fresh grown food. Drying the veggies for later is going to make for some good eating later.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how quickly the summer has gone by- I have not been camping even 1 time! Seems like thing have been very busy this summer
ReplyDeletethank you for the beautiful pics.... sad but true that i have seen more this summer in this here post than in real time.... :( lol
ReplyDeletei have so much respect for military families. i know it would be *so* hard for me to have my husband gone and to be worrying about his safety. i hope you guys have a great visit in september!

ReplyDeleteLove those pics! I can understand military life. My son-in-law is Army special forces. It is always hard when they are gone! I can't thank them enough for what they do for all of us!
ReplyDeletesummer is really flying by for some reason this year.
ReplyDeletegood job on getting the veggies ready for winter stew. Nothing like fresh veggies when it is cold!
ReplyDeleteThe corn and tomatoes picks are making me hungry!
ReplyDelete...What is that thing on the bbq? lol It looks like a giant tongue lmao.
ReplyDeleteYour poor daughter inlaw. That must be so hard. I sure appreciate what your son is doing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, peaceful pictures! And I hope your son is doing well and safe!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad it's getting near the end of the summer....
