Summer is here.... what are you up to?

MY, MY, MY.... one of my friends at the CommentExchange kicked me in the butt this week. She essentially said (paraphrasing) ~Get off your lazy rear and post something new!~ So here I am, at 11:17pm going through all the other "web" stuff I have put off this month. So what do I post about? MMMMMMMMMMMM Well, I keep trying to figure out how to make money on the internet. I am not so successful at that. Oh, I make $5 here and $2 there. Money is Money. But, as much as I love selling, I would rather be selling for me. Not for "The Man", you know. Catch 22~I have to keep the job with the man in order to live and thus not enough time to build a business to earn enough to live. (Are you confused yet?)

I want to hear success stories. Lots and Lots of success stories. Are you or anyone you know actually making enough money to live on? My friend John over at Potpolitics is running a series of posts by La Teasa at Home Business Success. I just really haven't had the time to really, REALLY read the articles. So that is my goal..... I am going to read the guest posts and really search La Teasa's site and see what I learn. If I learn something really good, I will let you know.

The girls are still blessing us with eggs
Buck is growing from a puppy into a lovely dog

........ and he's all mine! :P

Who do we appreciate????

Why the girls of course..... As many of you know, we brought home our first chicks this spring. What a total delight they have been. We got 9 chicks, thinking that we would be lucky to have 5 of and 4 of the other. Well, we were blessed with 1 rooster, Stew the stud and 8 hens.

They started out in a card board box. Got move out to the greenhouse in Sugar's old crate with a heat lamp. They started to grow ~ FAST! So we designed a portable chicken coop. We (my sweetie) pushes and scoots that coop all over the yard. The chickens always have a clean fresh place to hang out.

Nothing prepared me for the bounty that was soon to appear in the nesting boxes!

We started out with one egg in August about every other day.
Then maybe 2 in a day. Or even 1 a day.


Then OMYGOSH!!!!

Yes, indeed, the girls finally laid an egg..... not just one egg, but 2 gorgeous eggs. Not big. But perfect small eggs, 2 of them. WOW!

What's up on the homestead?

Seriously, now, somebody needs to go to camera anonymous!

Last night, we let the chickens out of their coop to run around the yard... I laughed and laughed. Most of the pictures were too blurry from laughing. But here is a little photo journal of their little excursion! I hope you enjoy them!










Dinner tonight.... brats on the grill fresh corn and beans from the garden. MMMM good!



What is a post without the current SUNFLOWER? We picked the first gourds off the vine today. Let 'em dry and onto bird houses! Yee Haa!



I gotta new toy! A bread maker.... yummy!
